Karen wanted to open up her own child care centre when she was informed that the centre that her 3rd child was attending was going to close.  Karen and her husband Robert had all three of their children Tiana (7), Samara (6) and Salvatore (18 months) (as at feb 2009) cared for by the staff that were currently at this centre, there was only one option, employ and work with the staff in our new centre. Karen and her husband are so happy to commence this new venture with a caring, wonderful and extremely qualified group of people. 

 

Robert has an engineering, mechanical and electrical background and owns his own engineering company. Karen has an architectural and dancing background, has worked for an architectural firm for 17 years and then worked for herself and various architects and builders for the previous 4 years.  Karen also taught dancing/cheerleading and owned her own dance school concurrently with architecture building it up to 300 children attending it.

 

 

 

I am 55 years old and have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.  I started my working career at PMG (now Telstra), then to Modbury Hospital as a training nurse.  I went on to work at various nursing homes around Adelaide and I worked for a nursing agency. I stopped work for a short time to have my last 2 children.  I then went onto a cleaning career in offices and private homes working for various companies and volunteer work through the school my children went to.  This lead to co-managing the school canteen and working in Out Of Ours School Care, from here I started work at Walkerville Childcare as a casual assistant this lead to fulltime work and then studying for the Diploma of Children’s Services  and then to Team Leader Position in the Walkerville and then Local Kids Walkerville Babyhouse. I am now continuing my enjoyable career with children and their families at Cozi Kidz as Manager and Team Leader of "Little Twinkle Stars Babyroom".

 

 

 

Hey there, my name is Carol (not going to tell you my age – but I am a mum to two amazing girls, Claudia – 14 and Danni-Elle 10) and I have been at Cozi’s since July 2009…. The owners of the Centre are actually my twin brother Robert (I’m the better looking half.. hehehehe) and sister-in-law Karen and they have given me the wonderful opportunity to play a huge role in the Centre.  I am the Admin/Accounts Manager and also assist on the floor.  My career background is Admin and more recently have started to bake and decorate cakes & cupcakes. I also  have my Cert 3 in Children Services.

I have always enjoyed being surrounded by children but am actually overwhelmed at how being in childcare has lifted my spirits and made me thoroughly enjoy my job.  It is always a pleasure coming to work and being welcomed by the most amazing children and staff every single day.  No single day is the same and all of our children have such great characters.  Even watching our babies grow, learn to walk and develop their own characteristics is so fulfilling.  The children constantly make me laugh and put a smile on my face long after they have left for the day.

I would like to welcome any families whom may interested in placing their child into Cozi Kidz Child Care Centre and can assure you that they will be cared for in the most caring, happy and professional environment that a Centre can offer.  

 

 

 

I am Karen’s mum and having recently being retired when Karen and Robert decided to open up their own Child Care Centre I was happy to get out and do something again.  I enjoy cooking for the children and joining in with them getting them involved in making afternoon teas.  I love children and have 3 girls and 8 grand children.

 

 

 

Hi my name is Cheryl, I am from a small country town called Tumbarumba, I moved here 14 years ago and worked as a live in nanny, as I have always wanted to work with children at a young age. I felt I needed a challenge so I decided to do relief work at a few Child Care Centres and realized that this is what I wanted to do as a career, so I studied and got my Diploma in Children's Services.

As a person who has a real desire, passion and self fulfillment in working in child care, I believe I am suited to this field of work.

My philosophy is based on the belief that each child is viewed as a unique individual to be nurtured to reach their full potential and to provide a warm, safe, caring and stimulating environment that meets the developmental needs of each child.

 

 

 

I am 27 years old and I am originally from Port Augusta.  I moved to Adelaide in 2002 to attend University. 

 

In the past 8 years I have completed my Bachelor of Arts majoring in Education through Flinders University.   I Have completed my certificate three in children’s services and my Diploma in children’s services through TAFE.  I am currently finishing my education degree through Charles Darwin University to become a teacher.

  

Working with children is a great passion of mine and I have been in the Industry for over 6 years. I will continue to expand my knowledge and experience in this field to be able to help children learn, grow and reach their full potential.

 

 

 

I am 55 years old, married to Paul with a 14 year old daughter Alison.

After completing my Diploma in Teaching, Peggy worked for 20 years as an Early Childhood Teacher with the SA Education Department.

In 1994, I joined Walkerville Child Care Centre as a Qualified Childcare Worker and enjoyed that role for the past 15 years, forming lasting friendships with many children and their parents in that time.

I have now also completed my Diploma in Children’s Services and am involved in the Early Intervention Program to assess as early as possible children with gifts and/or children with learning/social concerns.

My Childcare Philosophy is based on nurturing and supporting the wellbeing of each child of each child which helps them to develop a positive start in life.

 

 

 

I am 32 years old and have 5 children of my own ranging in ages from 15 years to 1 yrs.  I have worked in the childcare industry for seven years.  I completed my Diploma in Children’s services 6 years ago and am currently studying Bachelor of Early Childhood through Chales Darwin University.  I love spending time with children and I feel very privileged to work with children and watch them grow and reach their full potential.

 

 

 

I have been involved in Child Care Centres since the age of 15 when I did my work experience in one and loved it.  Now over 15 years later I still have the passion for children and have never looked back.  I completed my Diploma in Children’s Services in 2000 and have worked and programmed for all ages in childcare from Babies to Kindy age.  I find enjoyment and fulfillment working with all ages.  Some other skills and training I have acquired include working with Autistic children, Reggio Amelia approach, fluency in Italian and some sign language.  My life skills also include 2 young children of my own whom keep me very busy.  My personal philosophy in childcare is that each child and staff have unique and special talents in which it is my job to ensure they shine to their full potential.  

 

 

 

I am 31 years old, I grew up in a Family Day Care environment as my mother ran a Family Day Care, which hence gave me the passion to work with children. I have worked in childcare for the past 7 years and I have completed my Diploma in Children’s Services.  I have worked with children from the ages 0 to 12 years of age.  I thoroughly enjoy working with children.  I love participating and watching sports, music and movies.

 

 

 

I am 56 years of age, I am an energetic mother of 4, married and I also have 8 grandchildren. I have completed my certificate III in children’s services and I have been working in childcare for 3 ½ years. I enjoy my work immensely and love working in the Baby room at Cozi Kidz.

 

 

 

I am 18 years old, and I moved to Australia from Scotland when I was 14, I am loving Adelaide.  I have transferred my traineeship from a centre down south and am currently continuing my traineeship at Cozi Kidz to achieve my certificate III and Diploma in Children’s Services.

 

 

 

I am 35 years of age, and as early as I can remember, working with children was my ideal job.  After being fortunate enough to be an at home mum, when my 2 children began their schooling I picked up mine.  I have been working with children now for 4 years.  I have completed my certificate III in children’s services and have nearly completed my Diploma in Children’s Services.  I find my job thoroughly rewarding, being able to watch each child grow in all aspects physically, mentally, socially and emotionally.

 

 

 

I am married with three children, I have worked at the centre for nearly 2yrs, I have just completed my Certificate III in Children's Services, I had been working in the kindy room supporting a child with autism and I am now in the toddler room.

 

 

 

I am 21 years of age, I have completed my certificate III in children’s services through Gilles Plains TAFE. I am currently half way through my Diploma and am hoping to complete it in 2011.  I am the youngest of two children and I have an Italian background.  My aim is to complete my teacher’s degree. I have been working at Cozi Kidz for almost a year now, I am thoroughly enjoying working with the staff, families and children at Cozi Kidz.

 

 

 

I am 20 years of age, I am currently completing my certificate III in children’s services through Enable College. I started my work placement at Cozi Kidz and they were impressed with the way I was working with the children and have now employed me.  I enjoy many aspects of childcare, but teaching the children new things would definitely be at the top.  I hope to complete my Diploma in 2011 and become a team leader or Director one day.
